Client Video Delivery
Client video delivery is the delivery experience from the client's side: how they receive, watch, share and save the videos you made for them.
What is Client Video Delivery?
Client video delivery is the experience of receiving a finished video from the client's point of view: how they open it, watch it, share it and save it. Where "video delivery" describes the whole process, client video delivery focuses on the recipient, who is usually not a video professional and may be opening the link on a phone between meetings.
Why it matters
Your client does not see your timeline, your color grade settings or your export presets. They see a link. Whatever happens in the first ten seconds after they click it shapes how they feel about the project. If the video plays immediately, looks good and is easy to save, the job feels complete. If they hit a login wall, a "preview not available" message or a confusing folder, the delivery becomes a support task for you.
Clients also share. A wedding couple forwards the film to parents, a marketing manager sends it to their director, an agent posts a listing video to social media. The delivery has to work for people you have never met, on devices you cannot predict.
How it works
From the client's side, a smooth delivery usually has these qualities:
• One link. Everything for the project is in a single place rather than spread across emails or attachments.
• No account required. The client can open and watch without signing up for a service.
• Instant playback. The film starts quickly in the browser, on desktop or mobile, without downloading a large file first.
• A clear download. There is an obvious way to save the full-quality file, ideally with sensible file names.
• Clear presentation. Titles, a cover image or a short note explain what each file is.
• Appropriate privacy. A password or private link keeps personal or confidential work from being found by others.
Non-technical clients often do not know the difference between a stream and a master file. It helps to tell them explicitly which file to keep, how long the link will stay live, and what to do if they need a different version for social media.
What clients find frustrating
The most common complaints are predictable: links that expire before the client gets round to downloading, compressed previews that make a 4K film look soft, zip files that fail on mobile, being asked to create an account, and not knowing which of several files is "the" film. Cloud drives, transfer services and video hosts can each work well, but each tends to expose one of these issues because none was designed specifically around the client receiving a finished film.
How does DLVRD handle client video delivery?
In DLVRD, the client opens a single gallery link that works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no account needed to view or download. They can stream the film immediately and download the original file. The gallery can show your logo and colors, hold photos alongside video, and be protected with a password.
