Can I stop clients from downloading a video?

Yes. Downloads are a per-gallery control on DLVRD, so you can share a gallery for viewing only and enable downloads when you are ready.

There are several situations where this matters: a draft that is still under review, a film that is embargoed until a launch date, a project where the balance has not yet been paid, or a public-facing showcase where you want playback but not distribution.

Turning on the watermark disables downloads automatically, which is the right combination for drafts. For approved but unpaid work, leave the watermark off and simply keep downloads disabled until the invoice clears, then switch them on and notify the client.

When downloads are enabled, clients receive your untouched original, and on paid plans you are notified when they collect it.
