What's the difference between Frame.io and a video delivery platform?

Frame.io is a review and collaboration tool built for the edit. A video delivery platform is built for the handover at the end. One is where your team and client argue about frame 1,432; the other is where the client receives the finished film and feels great about it.

Frame.io's strengths are frame-accurate comments, version stacking, and integrations with editing software. Those are production-side features, and they come with production-side pricing and a production-side interface. Sending a final wedding film or brand spot to a client through it means asking them to navigate a post-production tool.

A delivery platform strips that back. The client gets a branded gallery, cinematic playback on any device, full-resolution downloads, and no account. You get passwords, expiry, download notifications, and archive storage. Light review is still possible where it helps, for example timecoded comments on a draft, but the design centre is presentation and handover, not versioning.
