Does DLVRD compress my video?

No. DLVRD never alters the file you upload. We create separate optimised copies for streaming, but your original is stored untouched and is exactly what the client receives when they click Download.

Streaming and delivery have different requirements. A 40GB ProRes master cannot be played instantly on a phone over mobile data, so we transcode it into playback renditions that start in seconds on any device. That is what the client sees in the gallery player.

The download is a different path. It points at your original file, same codec, same bitrate, same colour, same metadata. There is no re-encode between your export and the client's hard drive.

This is the distinction that most video-hosting sites blur, and it is why filmmakers who care about quality deliver through DLVRD rather than a streaming service.
